Around the ACC: August 30th

The ACC football season for 2008 got underway on Thursday night with 4 teams in action.

Wake Forest, ranked nationally in the preseason poll for the first time, took care of business down in Texas, handling the Baylor Bears 41-13.

Miami played its first home at Dolphin Stadium and had an easy time with Charleston Southern, winning 52-7.

The Paul Johnson era began at Georgia Tech on a winning note as the Yellow Jackets beat Jacksonville State 41-14.

NC State’s season got off to a bad start in Columbia as South Carolina rolled over the Pack 34-0.
