Paul’s pro pigskin prognostications.

Last week 9-5 49-24 for the season.

This week I see

Baltimore @ Indy: In a ironic twist of fate I see the Colts getting off the schnide in their new stadium by taking down the team from the city the Colts once fled. Colts 23 Ravens 14

Detroit @ Minnesota: The Lions were meek as sheep last week against the Bears, do not look for that to improve against a Vikings team that is liable to feel like they are up against the wall. Vikes 24 Lions 10

Oakland @ New Orleans: The Raiders looked a lot better last week, and the Saints let one slip away on MNF against the Vikings. The Saints struggle mightily on defense and that along with coming off a short week leads me to think the Raiders have a real shot to pull off the upset, but I just cannot pull the trigger. Saints 24 Raiders 20

Cincy @ NY Jets: The Bengals are drifting more with each passing week and the effort against the Cowboys last week is in my view good as it gets when it comes to the Bungals. Couple that with the Jets coming off a bye week and seeking to build on their momentum from crushing the Cards two weeks back leads to a long day for Ocho Cinco and company. Jets 31 Bengals 20

Chicago @ Atlanta: The Falcons have been one of the pleasant surprises of the league and last week I called their win on the soon to be frozen tundra of Lambeau Field, got to ride that train for another week, especially at home. Falcons 21 Bears 16

Carolina @ Tampa: Jeff Garcia is going to be in the saddle for the Bucs, the Panthers have been playing slightly over their heads and could be a little fat and happy after last weeks scalping of the Chiefs. In the words of Archie Bell, things in the NFC south are about to ‘tighten up’. Bucs 20 Panthers 14

St. Louis @ Washington: The Skins are surging after coming back in Philadelphia last week. The Rams have Jim Haslett keeping the coaches seat warm. Washington’s is heading into the soft section of the schedule and can ill afford to stub their toes. They will not. Skins 35 Rams 17

Miami @ Houston: Look for the Fish to keep swimming along against a Texans team that will be reeling after collapsing late in the contest against the Colts last week. Miami 21 Houston 10

Jacksonville @ Denver: As usual Denver has the abilty to outscore anyone, but now the defense looks like it might be coming around. Bad combination for their visitors from northern Florida. Broncos 34 Jags 20

Philly @ SF: The Eagles will be in a sour mood after letting the Skins off the hook last week and must get back in the win column if they hold any hope of keeping pace with the rest of the division. Eagles 23 Niners 19

Green Bay @ Seattle: Both teams are stuggling, but it just seems like the Packers are sliding further and that the Seahawks will be eager to give Coach Mike Holgrem final battle against his old team. Seahawks 30 Green Bay 24

Dallas @ Arizona: The Cardinals just seem like a different team at home, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Plus the Cards will be hyped with America’s team coming to town. Plus the Cowboys are fighting one of those Pac-Man fiasco’s which everyone knew was just a matter of time in coming. Pac-Man will play at this point, but do not be surprised if the commisioners office puts pressure on Jerry Jones to remove him from the lineup, either way the Cowboys defense is exploitable, especially with the weapons Kurt Warner has. Cards 34 Cowboys 31

New England @ San Diego: In a matchup that has lost some of the luster that this fixture has had for the last few seasons. The Chargers are struggling and really need to find a way to win this game, but with Tomlinson getting over his turf toe I just do not see the Chargers getting the job done against a Patriots team that just keeps finding a way to get it done.
Pats 17 Chargers 13

NY Giants @ Cleveland: The Giants are playing the best football in the league, but this will not be a pushover with the Browns coming off a bye week. The Dog pound will be chomping at the bit for the upset, but it will be too much Eli and co.
Giants 27 Browns 21
