Vandy’s Ebert Leads Inaugural Duke Coca-Cola Individual Collegiate After Two Rounds

DURHAM, N.C.– Vanderbilt’s John Ebert shot 70-70=140 (-2) on Monday to take a two-stroke lead at the inaugural Duke Coca-Cola Individual Collegiate. Ebert was the only one in the 63-player field to post under-par scores in each of the first two rounds at the Duke University Golf Club (6,961 yards, par 71).

“John [Ebert] played very solid today with two rounds of 70,” said Vanderbilt assistant coach Justin Emil. “He didn’t hit the ball as well coming down the stretch, but had a very solid short game throughout the day. He is looking forward to tomorrow’s final round and the opportunity to win the golf tournament.”

North Carolina’s Chase MacFarland is two strokes back after shooting 71-71=142, while Tim McKenny of Florida, Trey DelGreco of Vanderbilt and Carter Newman of Augusta State are tied for third at two-over (144).

“The tournament gives our guys another opportunity to play competitive golf,” added Emil. “We have some guys fighting to get in the lineup and they are making the most of this exciting opportunity.”

Final round action tees off No. 1 and No. 10 on Tuesday beginning at 8:00 a.m. Live scoring for the Duke Coca-Cola Individual Collegiate is available at www.golfstat.com.
