Pirates fall 21-3

Team Notes;

The 21-3 loss snaps ECU’s three-game winning streak and they fall to 6-4 overall and 4-2 in C-USA action.

Ben Hartman’s 31-yard FG in the second quarter extended the Pirates school record to 136 games without being

shutout. The last time ECU was blanked came on Oct. 4, 1997 against Syracuse in the Carrier Dome 56-0.

•The 255 total yards of offense was a season-low for the Pirates.Attendance: 30,658

ECU’s 66 yards rushing was the lowest since their 56-yard performance earlier in the season at Tulane (9/13/08).

The Pirates have not scored an offensive TD in the first quarter since West Virginia (9/6/08). They have only scored three points in the first quarter in the last four games and nine since Oct. 11, 2008 against UVA.•Ten different ECU receivers caught at least one pass in the game.ECU did not score on either opening drive has scored on 10 of its 20 opening-half drives this year.•ECU had four receivers with a reception of 10 or more yards (Harris-12; Womack-34, 17; Taylor-14; Drew-39).

•ECU’s three points is a Skip Holtz era low and the fewest points since 1997 when the Pirates were shutout by
