In Metro-4A action Friday night Page took a pair from East Forsyth.
In the girls game the Lady Pirates held the Lady Eagles to a single point in the final period as Page pulled away for a 55-30 victory. Chevena Pickard led the way with 28pts.
In the boys battle it was the Page defense that also made the difference. After a back and forth opening period which saw the Pirates hold a 10-9 edge the Pirate defense clamped down holding the Eagles to a single basket in the 2nd period as Page built a 23-11 edge at the break. The Eagles offense woke up somewhat in the 2nd half and East even managed to pull within five late in the contest but Page made their free throws down the stretch to hold on for a 44-38 win. Julius Brooks led the way for the Pirates with a dozen points and a stalwart defensive presence inside. Danny O’Brian led all scorers with 19 and his shot was the only consistent in the Eagle attack the whole evening.
