Access Hollywood confirms Jason Powell’s prowrestling.net weekend report and our earlier analysis piece this past weekend that Mickey Rourke, the star of “The Wrestler,” will be appearing at WrestleMania 25 in Houston.
WWE and the producers of the movie have been in close contact to have a tie-in between the Academy Award-nominated actor and WWE’s signature event of the year.
“The boys from the WWE called me and asked me to do it,” Rourke told Access Hollywood. “I said, ‘I want to.’ I’m talking with Rowdy Roddy Piper about it.”
Rourke cut a preliminary promo on Chris Jericho, who could be incorporated into a program with Rourke.
“Chris Jericho, you better get in shape,” Rourke added. “Because I’m coming after your ***.”
