Saturday morning rewind, Evening Edition

Getting today’s installment in a little late, but last night did mark the end of the regular season and now it’s time to start all over again.

Who got the coin flips, I wonder? Dudley boys or Northern Guilford boys? How about that tie with the Smith and High Point Central girls both finishing at (6-1)j in the Metro. Dudley and NG both came out with (13-1) conference marks.

Greensboro Day School fell to the mighty Christ School last evening up in Asheville, but at the half, that game was only 21-18, Greenies over the Bengals. The Grimsley boys close with a win over Smith and the Whirlies put up a (7-3) conference record, good for second place in the Metro for the boys. The Metro tournament for boys and girls will at Page next week.

The Triad 3-A tournament will be held at Northeast Guilford and the Northern Guilford girls made a run to finish at (9-5), while the Dudley girls come in at (14-0). The NEG girls closed strong with a win last evening, 61-31 over Bartlett Yancey. NG over Western ASlamance last night, 57-31. Ragsdale girls over Asheboro, 71-51. Lady Tigers go to (12-1) conference and where is their tournament next week?????

Congrats to our NWG Vikings again, as the girls finish unbeaten at (10-0) in the Metro. Nice jobs by our good friends Gretchen Bennett, Melissa Flores and Hannah McIntosh.

The Southeast Guilford boys and girls both got past Randleman and they had fine seasons at SEG.

Ragsdale boys go (12-0) and the Page boys won last night.(See Joe’s article.)

Anybody know how WS Reynolds-North Forsyth turned out and what about Mount Tabor?

I’ll have more tomorrow with Josh Thompson and Tony Sutphin. Josh on hoops and Tony on baseball.

I just got back in town from Lynchburg, Virginia and they are running me out of the Guilford College library.

  1. NG won the toss and received the #1 seed @ the tourney. They play monday @ 7p. I’m assuming Rockingham. NG #3 seed will play WA again on Tuesday @ 530p

  2. Big John

I believe the Coach for Western Guilford boys team (Wade) should be coach of the year in his conference. Yes ahead of Stan and Price because of what he is working with. 9-5 ain’t bad and a thrid place finish.
