High School hoops from last night Part I

We had a few of these scores for you last night and to add to those and to rewind the others we had the Ragsdale Tigers winning twice with the boys knocking off Asheboro 80-54 and the Lady Tigers were also winners over Asheboro 55-47. The girls game was a little closer than usual with Dorian McInnis hitting for 24 and Courtney Arrington nailing down 22 points. Forty-six of the 55 total, that’s quite a one-two punch from last night.

The Ragsdale boys were led by Jay Canty, Wally Jones and Tyquan Roberts. Both the Ragsdale girls and boys are quietly positioning themselves for a run at the Mid-Piedmont 3-A Conference tournament titles with only Southeast and Trinity standing in their way.

We got this note from Tom on the Northern girls and their game last night:
Northern Guilford Girls 48-28 over Western Alamance. Rockingham over Morehead. Northern will play Rockingham at 6PM on Thursday at Northeast High School. Samantha Coffer 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Nighthawks and Jessica Johnson added 9 points in the win.

The Dudley boys ran past Morehead 93-56 and let’s hope we can get some more details from either Derrick Partee or Jerry Woodall on this Triad 3-A round one game that could have been Morehead coach John Harder’s last game ever.

The Eastern Guilford boys have made it to the finals of the North State 2-A Conference Tournament after the Wildcats’ 71-63 victory over McMichael last night at UNCG. EG will face former Grimsley coach Bill Walton and his Reidsville Rams for the title tomorrow night again at UNCG. Quayshad Williams and Tre Radcliffe led Eastern with 19 points each last night in the win over the Phoenix.

EG girls versus Southern at UNCG tonight in the Mike Fleming Gym.
