Dominate pitching by Bo Rein, Davis Inman and Cal Sutphin (they allowed 0 earned runs) to go with some good early hitting got the Cowboys to 3-1 in the Conference. Matt Rutledge looked good on the hill for the Red Raiders but the Cowboys hit him hard early. Ethan Ogburn had a rope to cf, Bo Rein did also, Will Kellam had a double with 2 rbi’s and another rope that he hit right to the right fielder, Cal Sutphin had two hits and 3 rbi’s. Big showdown at Glenn on Thursday at 7 for Southwest, a win for the Cowboys will put them atop the conference at the half way point, a loss and Glenn will be up two games on the Cowboys with only 5 conference games remaining.

******Strong outings by both starting pitchers, the Hornets’ Mark Leake and Dudley’s Tevin Neal. For WG, two runs in the first, two in the fourth and two in the fifth. For Dudley it was two in second, two more in the 4th and one run in the 7th. The game was WG 2-0, then tied at 2-2 in the second, then WG up 4-2 in the 4th and then tied again in the bottom of the 4th at four and WG moved back on top 6-4 in fifth and Dudley closed the gap to 6-5 in the bottom of the 7th with a run scored during a run-down where the runner from third scored while the man on first got taken out on the way to second for out number two.

Great game all the way around and a tough road win but a big conference win for Western.
