Nick McBride throws a perfect game in 6 innings. 14 k’s, no walks, no errors.
Tuttle takes his 1st loss.
Much anticipate battle between Ragsdale and Randleman with Daniel Tuttle on the mound for Randleman and Nick McBride for Ragsdale. Over 20 scouts in attendance for a HS game.

Kyle Brandenburg (Campbell) set the tome on the first pitch as he doubled off Tuttle. This was Tuttle first hit in 17 innings this year. Brandenburg stole third and went home on a passed ball for Ragsdale to take an early 1-0 lead. It remained a 1-0 game as both McBride and Tuttle cruised through the first 3 innings.

However in the 4th Ragsdale opened up a bit as DeSean Anderson had a double followed by 2 wild pitches/passed balls and a walk to Fultz. Ryan Andrejco then doubled to left up the green monster hill. After 4 innings it was 4-0 Ragsdale.

In the 5th Ragsdale got a runner on and then Walt Sparks turned to lay down a suicide but was hit by a pitch to put runners on 1st and 3rd. Mike Whited then laid down a great bunt to plate a run. Brandenburg then beat out a bunt and Randleman had a couple of errors and wild pitches to go up 8-0 before Tuttle was relieved.

The real story was Nick McBride went 6 innings on 80 pitches giving up no walks, no hits and no errors to throw a perfect game. He had 14 K’s and only 4 balls in play. He only went to a full count 3 times getting 2 K’s and a 6-3 out. Randleman struggled a bit with 3 errors and 9 wild pitches/passed balls.

  3. Tonight (Thursday) is NW Senior Baseball night. All 7 of the NW seniors will be honored at NW before the game. They are a special group of student-athletes. Congratulations on a great season so far. Enjoy the night.

  4. Ragsdale played a great ball game last night in Randleman. On a night they didn’t need a bunch of runs they hit the ball really well against uttle who is a great pitcher.

Kyle Brandenburg parked the first Tuttle pitch into left center for a double. That set the tone as Ragsdale came out swinging at Tuttle’s fast ball. Desean Anderson, Billy Stone and Ryan Andrejco also had doubles. Tuttle seemed to get rattled a little after runners got on base. Ragsdale was able to steal on him and took advantage of numerous wild pitches.

Meanwhile McBride pitched a masterful game. His fastball is always good and last night his curve was working too. He stayed ahead in the count all night. I think he fed of his offensive support and the bats fed off his work on the mound. He struck out the side three times and they only hit one ball out of the infield all night.

I’m sure he gave all the scouts there plenty of good things to report.
