Hurricanes Series with Devils now Best of Three

Last night in Raleigh, the Carolina Hurricanes evened its first round playoff series with New Jersey at two games apiece, winning Game Four in literally the contest’s final second.

Jussi Jokinen deflected in Dennis Seidenberg’s slap shot off his skate with 0.2 of a second remaining for the game winner. Eric Staal, Ryan Bayda and Chad LaRose also scored and Seidenberg finished with two assists for the Hurricanes, who blew a 3-0 lead but regrouped just in time to avoid a third straight overtime game.

The back and forth series now comes down to a best of three to determine who will advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Game Five – at New Jersey, Thursday at 7:30 pm
Game Six – at Carolina, Sunday TBA
Game Seven – at New Jersey, if needed, Tuesday at 7:30 pm

The question now becomes who will seize control of the series in Game Five? Can the Canes ride the Mo from the dramatic Game Four win or will there be a letdown? How do the Devils react after losing in such heart breaking fashion? If the first four games are any indication, you can bet that Game Five will probably go right down to the wire.
