Davidson County’s head coach, Matt Ridge, said “We are excited that A.J. has decided to join our program at DCCC. He comes from an excellent high school program and is a proven winner.” Davidson County Community College just completed their second season in the National Junior College Athletic Association. They have been co-champions of the Tarheel Conference both years. In that time they have produced one JC All American and six times have had the National DIII JC Player of the Week. Coach Ridge has been named Conference and Region X Coach of the Year both years. Their 2008 team averaged 108 points a game as was ranked as high as 9th in the nation. In 2009 their team averaged 90 points a game and achieved a national ranking as high 4th during the regular season.

“I think A.J. will do well at DCCC,” said Page’s Robert Kent. “He has an excellent mid-range game and can shoot the three as well. His quickness makes him a tough defender and his speed enables him to push the ball up court when he plays point or get out on the break as a two guard. I am happy for A.J. He has worked hard this year to put himself into a position to play after high school. His work has paid off. Matt Ridge is one of the best young college coaches in the South. His program is a good fit for A.J.”
