The Black Knights of Army with Clint Moore(Grimsley) and JP Polchinski(Ragsdale HS) have already qualified for the NCAA baseball post-season and they will host the Big Green of Dartmouth in a tune-up game this weekend.
WEST POINT, N.Y. â€“ This weekend is shaping up to be a busy one for the senior members of Armyâ€™s baseball team.
While West Point will hold commencement exercises at Michie Stadium Saturday morning, the Black Knightsâ€™ senior baseball team members will head back to Doubleday Field 24 hours later to battle Ivy League-champion Dartmouth as head coach Joe Sottolanoâ€™s charges train their attention on their upcoming NCAA Regional appearance.
Dartmouth sports a 26-15 record and captured its first Ivy League championship in 23 years by taking two of three games from Cornell in the conference tournament earlier this month (May 2-3). The Big Green sport the Ivy Leagueâ€™s Player of the Year in Nick Santomauro and the Ivy Leagueâ€™s Rookie of the Year in Joe Sclafani, headlining a group of nine Big Green players to earn All-Ivy honors, more than any other school in the conference.
