Canes on the brink at the rink in Raleigh

The Carolina Hurricanes, down three-games-to-none to the Pittsburgh Penguins, face possible elimination tonight at the RBC Center in Raleigh.

This will not stop the Greensborosports.com Caniacs from making the trek to Raleigh from the Triad to cheer on their team. Bruce Bullington, who rarely misses a game; plus Bryan Jones, Chris Jones and Petey from our circle of Greensborosports Hockey Nutts, will all be in their seats for the 7:30pm faceoff.

The game will be played in the Hurricanes building on their home ice, but right now the Canes are on the outside looking in, down 3-0 and on the brink of hanging up their skates for another season.

Can the Canes maintain, get a win and then send the series back to Pittsburgh and avoid being run out of their own town? Primetime with the Packman is broadcasting LIVE today from Raleigh and the presence of Mark Packer usually insures a victory.

WBLO, 790AM the Ball, carries Packman’s show and the game can be heard LIVE on the radio at 99.9 the Fan in Raleigh and throughout the Triangle and if you want to catch the Canes-Penguins in the Triad you will need to go to the VERSUS channel from TWC.

  1. Game set is 3-1 Pittsburgh going to the 3rd period. (9pm on Tuesday Evening……)

  2. wow. Pittsburgh has not let the Canes do anything they wanted the entire series. Hats off to them.

and, a great year for the Canes. In January, I would not have put any money on them making the playoffs, much less going to the conference finals.
