Positive people and places: Uplifting Faces among the Crowd

So far we have:
Jason Roberts(Southwest Guilford/Charlotte
Liana Blue(Northeast Guilford/Charlotte
Tony Ferrante(High Point Wesleyan)
Trey Godette(Dudley)

This is good list to start with and let’s add to it and keep creating and recognizing some postive forces within our community.

Here are the comments that we have received on our Charter Members:(We are always looking for new members.)

Reader says: I’d like to make some positive comments about two local track athletes that compete for the Charlotte 49ers. Both had outstanding school years in competition in the Atlanitc 10 Conference.

She also graduated on time with a 3.84 gpa in chemistry.
The Charlotte women also won both the Atlantic 10 Indoor and Outdoor track Championships. This was the 4th straight year the Charlotte women have won.

I hope these accomplishments by two former Guilford County high school track athletes will shed some degree of positive on this site. Both of these kids have done well in academics and have been part of Championship teams as well as their individual accomplishments.

Reader says: Congratulations to Tony Ferrante of Wesleyan Christian Academy for being selected All-State in baseball. Tony batted well over .400.

Reader says: I did some looking on the Charlotte website. Both Roberts and Blue are well represented on both the indoor and outdoor top 10 lists.
Roberts: Indoor 3rd All Time in both the shot put and 35 lb weight throw
Outdoor: School record holder in the discus @ 166′2″
2nd All Time for Charloote in both the hammer and shot put

Blue: Indoor 7th All Time for Charlotte in the 5000
Outdoor: 6th All Time in the 3000 steeplechase

Guilford County has both a male thrower and a female distance runner competing well on the division 1 level.

Reader says: I was in attendance of Dudleys Basketball banquet and learned that Trey Godette number 33 or 32 I believe for the boys basketball team is attending Winston Salem State on the Chancellors Scholarship, I believe that his academic worth ethic along with his athletics payed off in the end, and kids should know that not just a jumpshot can get you into college…

  1. I hear that Brendon Wyatt, Junior Point Guard (Dudley) has 4.8 GPA. Go Brendon…

Majority of students in sports at Dudley have 3.o or better and rank among the highest GPA’ s in their class. Don’t fool yourselves about Dudley. Most students from there can attend college on academics alone.

Here’s to ALL students around the area that give it all they have and more…
Believe in yourself and keep rolling…

  2. There’s a little confusion about Tony Ferrante. The player is actually Chris Ferrante of Wesleyan Christian Academy. Tony is his father. Chris did have a good season acheiving all-conference, all-state as a sophomore.
