The High Point University Panthers 14U baseball won the Triple Crown North Carolina State Championship this past weekend in Morganton, NC. The HPU Panthers won three games on Sunday for the title.
The Panthers defeated the Spartanburg Phillies 8-7 in 8 innings in the quarterfinals. Then the Panthers defeated the Richmond, Va. Wildcats 4-3 in 7 innings after losing to the team the previous day in pool play. In the finals the HPU Panthers defeated a very good Proehlific Power team from Greensboro by a score of 14-11.
