Sports Hall of Fame Induction at Fork Union Military Academy‏

WHAT:
The 2009 Sports Hall of Fame Induction Dinner will be held on the campus of Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, Virginia on the evening of Thursday, June 18, 2009. FUMA alumni Vinny Testaverde, Roman Oben, and Shammond Williams will be inducted along with longtime head football coach R. L. “Red” Pulliam.

WHO:
The 2009 Class being inducted into the Fork Union Military Academy Sports Hall of Fame includes:
Vinny Testaverde, NFL veteran quarterback drafted #1 overall pick in the 1987 NFL Draft, 1986 winner of the Heisman Trophy
Roman Oben, 12-year NFL veteran left offensive tackle drafted by the New York Giants in 1996, won Super Bowl ring with Tampa Bay Bucs in 2002
Shammond Williams, one of basketball’s finest 3-point shooters ever, set the standing season/career 3-point records and free-throw percentage records at the University of North Carolina, has played professionally in the NBA and International leagues since 1998
Coach R. L. “Red” Pulliam, head coach of FUMA’s postgraduate program for 26 years, led his teams to a 170-69-7 record, started many athletes on the path to distinguished college and professional playing careers
