Greensboro College golfer Brock Elder has qualified for the North and South Amateur championship.
The rising junior shot a 71 (37-34)–and was one of just five local qualifiers out of more than 75 competitors–at Pinehurst’s No. 7 course on Monday.
The prestigious North and South begins on June 30 at Pinehurst No. 2. The event features six rounds of match play to determine a winner.
Elder tied for medalist honors in the local qualifier and was one under par.
“Brock had a great day and will now go on to compete in one of the most prestigious amateur events in the country against the top-ranked amateurs on June 30Th,” said GC Head Coach Dirk Fennie. “I was lucky enough to caddy for him and witness this great accomplishment.”
