GC/WG’s Sutton is a glutton for Academics

Greensboro College graduate student David Sutton (Greensboro, NC /Western Guilford) was picked to the at large academic national third team teams by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). This is Sutton’s second straight selection to a national first team. He was a first team pick in 2008.

Sutton posted 11-3 record at #1 tennis singles and was a USA South first team pick this season. Last year, Sutton was picked as an alternate to the NCAA Division III Individual Championships. He compiled a 17-4 record for The Pride this year.

A native of Greensboro, N.C., Sutton carries a 4.0 grad point average before graduating with a major in exercise sports science. Sutton previously earned the Fred Joseph Award, the highest athletic honor at Greensboro College, last year and is the career leader in singles for single season (1.000 in ’07) and career winning percentage (40-7, .851) and conference winning percentage (14-4, .777
