Southeast Guilford’s Allie Marshall Named to NCCSIA College All-State Softball Team

GREENSBORO, NC — Catawba junior Allie Marshall (Pleasant Garden, NC/SE Guilford HS) was among eleven student-athletes, representing seven different schools, comprising the 2009 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) College Division All-State Softball Team.

NCAA Division II playoff participants Wingate and Lenoir-Rhyne placed four and two students, respectively, on the team. Catawba, along with Chowan, Guilford, Mount Olive and UNC Pembroke each received one selection.

Marshall is the lone two-time all-state selection among this year’s honorees, earning a spot in 2007 as a freshman. The Daktronics second team All-Southeast honoree, hit a team-high .358 with 10 homers and 40 RBI. She moved into second place on Catawba’s career home runs list (31) and helped the club to its first NCAA Division II regional ranking.
