Post 87 falls to Mooresville on Sunday

High Point’s Post 87 Legion baseball team fell 11-9 to the Mooresville Moors on Sunday in Mooresville.

This will end the season for Post 87 as they were eliminated in game five of the best-of-five series with the Moors. Mooresville will move on to the State Tournament later this week in Shelby.

Mooresville collected 8 earned runs on 8 hits versus Post 87 starter Ethan Ogburn(Southwest Guilford) who went just three and a third innings. David Coffey(Ragsdale) came on and finished the game for Post 87.

Matt Dillon was 3-5 with 2 runs, 2 RBI’s and a solo home run for Post 87, while Cameron Hendrix hit a two-run homer for High Point.

Several other High Point players got one hit each according to our summer intern Clarence who was in Mooresville and he will be returning to the sidelines covering Alan Brown and Thomasville Bulldogs football this fall, at home in Cushwa Stadium, and on the road each and every Friday evening.
