Thorpe sets the bar far as he becomes a star at GC

Antwan Thorpe (Oxford, NC/Webb) has earned weekly honors presented by the USA South Conference.

Football Offensive Rookie of the Week
Antwan Thorpe, Greensboro College – The freshman wide receiver from Oxford, North Carolina totaled 159 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-14 loss to Emory & Henry. Thorpe made six receptions for 108 yards with one touchdown. Additionally, he ran the ball ten times for 51 yards and a score.

This kid Thorpe, can do it all on both sides of the ball, and he is working on the offensive side in the fall, for Greensboro College. Quite a find and in many ways a steal for the Pride to get this guy.

Somebody ought to lock up Bob Lowe, as he went on the go, like in Grand Theft Auto/College Football, in grabbing Thorpe and bringing him to Greensboro…….

  1. Antwan Thorpe was Mr Everything in football and basketball in high school for Oxford Webb according to what I heard previously. He was originally going to ECU so I am not sure how GC got him but I think this is great for GC and the city at large to have someone with Thorpe’s talent playing here. I do not know if he is planning on playing basketball at GC but based on what I saw of him against Dudley in the state playoffs last year, the GC men’s basketball program may be taking a step up this year with him on their team.
