  1. I saw this team(WG) for the first time last Friday night and was very impressed with the job Coach Causey is doing. Very slick/smooth offense that is is hard to defend because you have no idea really where the three men in the stacks are going.

Friday versus Smith will be a big playoff determiner for both teams at WG’s homecoming.

I hope to see WG again in couple of weeks when they go at it with Dudley at WG.

A thought on Western, is that you know they are for real, when you look back at their game with Northern Guilford where it was something like 28-28 or 26-26 until the very end when NG pulled it out to win at Western. WG was there with NG and NG is one of the better overall teams around.

WG is a team to keep an eye if they can stay healthy.

  2. Page defended Western pretty well.. it was 49-7 before Page called off the dogs..

Thompson went 13 for 34 with 3 INT’s, one of them returned for a TD by Jon Spain.

  3. Page did do a number on Western, but from what I was hearing, Western’s big-back Aaron Jones, only saw one quarter of action in that game because of injury.

WG needs Jones to balance out there passing and running. You would think that WG would have been able to expose the Page Pirate secondary, but that was not the case on that night and maybe things could have been different if Jones was available.

Page has so much that they can bring at you with Gordon, Harvey and Rustin at FB; Phan, Rogers and Gordon at TB and then McCoy and Summers at QB. Page-Grimsley is big for rivalry purposes this week, but the Page at Dudley game looms larger down the road…………

  4. On Page and Grimsley’s schedule the Page/Grimsley rivalry will always be the biggest game of the year whether both teams are evenly matched or not. However, I agree that the Page/Dudley game will be a huge game because it is a showdown between two of the best in the area and even the state, really. I hope it will live up to all its hype. I won’t turn my back on Smith either. I am definitely looking forward to that match up as well.
