The Greensboro Swimming Association is proud to announce that three of its athletes have been named to USA Swimming’s Scholastic All-America Team based on their outstanding academic and swimming achievements in the 2008-2009 season. This year’s GSA honorees are:
· Kate Riley, a 2009 graduate of Northwest Guilford High School and now a freshman swimmer at Georgia Tech
· Willie Mendelson, a senior at Grimsley High School
· Lexi Riggs, a junior at Northwest Guilford High School
Kate Riley has been named to the Scholastic All-America Team for all three years of her eligibility. This is the first year for both Mendelson and Riggs.
The Scholastic All-America Team is a national program that recognizes high school student-athletes who have completed 10th, 11th or 12th grade with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and have attained a Junior National Bonus Event time standard during the eligibility period.
