UNCG and coach Mike Gaski announce 2010 baseball schedule

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro will play 54 regular season games, including 19 of its first 21 games in the friendly confines of the UNCG Baseball Stadium as head coach Mike Gaski announced the 2010 baseball schedule on Monday afternoon.

The Spartans will open the season with a weekend series at home against Cleveland State on Feb. 19-21 before traveling to Chapel Hill, N.C. to take on returning College World Series participant North Carolina on Feb. 23 in the Spartans’ first midweek contest.

UNCG returns home that weekend to face Albany in a three-game series before traveling to NC State on March 3 to face the Wolfpack in a midweek game. The Spartans then play at home for 13 straight games beginning with a three-game series against Army on March 5-7.

The Spartans host Eastern Kentucky on March 9 for a midweek game before facing Princeton in a rare Saturday-Monday weekend series on March 13-15, which kicks off UNCG playing eight games in nine days. UNCG will take on Harvard on March 17 and 18 before facing College of Charleston on March 19-21 at home in a three-game weekend series. UNCG will cap off its homestand with a midweek game at home against UNC on March 26 at 6 p.m.
