Last night Clemson v. UNC-G Basketball drew under 6,000 fans at the Greensboro Coliseum. It was the initial event for the UNC-G / Greensboro Coliseum partnership.
6,000 fans means 17,000 empty seats ( I don’t buy into that curtain that reduces the coliseum attendance to 10,300 from 23,000). That’s more fans than UNC-G could get into Flemming Gym, so that’s a positive.
As with Ice Hockey, most folks don’t attend Coliseum events until after Christmas and UNC-G has some BIG opponents during the Christmas Break.
I was sequestered at the GreensboroSports.Com Radio Central Friday Night; so I’d be interested in hearing from folks who attended the game as how their experience was (in comparison to games at Flemming previous years). Is this something that is going to work?
