Jazz Gibbs(Southeast Guilford) does it again for the Guilford College women

*Greensboro, N.C. (1/19/10) –* *Jazlyn Gibbs* shared the game-high with 18 points to lead the Guilford to a 58-53 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory over visiting Emory & Henry College Tuesday night.

The Quakers (9-7, 6-5 ODAC) snapped a two-game losing streak with a strong second half after the Wasps (5-8, 4-5 ODAC) held Guilford to 22.6 percent field-goal shooting in the first stanza.

The first half was a defensive struggle which saw both knotted at 19 apiece at the intermission.

Guilford started quickly in the second half behind a full-court pressure defense that forced 11 turnovers over a seven-minute span and resulted in a 15-7 Quakers run. *Brittany Atwater* scored all 12 of her points and in the second half, many of them on fast breaks. Joining Atwater was *Lauren LeFevers* 10 points and *Alexandria Miles’ *10 rebounds. Guilford had 19 steals and forced 31 Emory & Henry turnovers, which led to 18 Guilford points.

Sarah Petty lead the way for the Wasps with 18 points and was joined by Alex Lyons who notched a double-double of 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

Guilford returns to action Saturday (1/23) traveling to ODAC-rival Roanoke for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
