Greensboro, NC — Piedmont College completed a three-game sweep of Greensboro College with a 14-5 win over The Pride at War Memorial Stadium on Sunday. Ryan Summerford (Southern Pines, NC/Pinecrest High School) had 2 hits and Quinn Finnegan (Ft. Lauderdale, Fl/Plantation High School) hit a home run for GC in the defeat.
The Lions tallied 5 runs in the first inning and collected 16 hits in the game. PC designated hitter Kevin McConnell had a monster game for the visitors. He went 4-5, with a homer, 3 doubles and 5 RBI.
Piedmont pitcher Dusty Black got the win and freshman Taylor MacDonald (Pinebluff, NC/Pinecrest High School) suffered the defeat for The Pride.
PC improved to 8-10. The Pride (4-13) hosts Arcadia on Tuesday. The doubleheader begins at 6 p.m.
