Aldine Payne, a key member of Glenn’s football staff for the past seven seasons, is now the Bobcats’ head coach. He replaces Dickie Cline, who resigned in February after a successful nine-year run.

Payne, 47, has been a head baseball coach and is currently Glenn’s head softball coach, but this will be his first head-coaching position in football.

“It’s great,” he said. “It’s been a dream of mine for about 10 years. I didn’t go looking for it because I liked it here. It’s something that I really wanted because our staff here is a really good one.”

Athletics Director Marty Stanley of Glenn said he has had plenty of time to observe Payne, and he credited him as a big part of Glenn’s success under Cline.
