from the Cape Cod Times:

COTUIT — The Harwich Mariners banged out 16 hits and got enough pitching in the late innings to snap the Cotuit Kettleers’ five-game winning streak.

Three Mariners finished with three-hit games, including Pratt Maynard (North Carolina State), Clint Moore (Army) and Steve Proscia (Virginia). Maynard drove in three runs, Moore scored three times and Proscia had two RBIs, including a key double in the sixth inning.

Moore and Levi Michael (North Carolina) began the Harwich scoring in the first inning with back-to-back triples.

Vanderbilt catcher Curt Casali hit a pinch-hit two run home run in the seventh inning for the Kettleers (9-11-1). He added an RBI double in the ninth, finishing 2-for-2 off the bench.

Harwich starter Joe Holtmeyer (Nebraska) pitched well, allowing just three hits over five innings, striking out five.

  1. If they play 5 games in a week he will play in four out of five and this game is from their most recent game back on Tuesday night of this week.

Cape Cod League All-Star Game is due up around July 27 at Boston’s Fenway Park and would love to see Clint get a chance to be in that game….At one time about 2 weeks ago he was 4th in the league in batting……Not sure about current, but he is doing more(Moore) than just hanging in there….
