Scores of teams will be in town: Major Soccer Tournament Returns to Greensboro this weekend

SCORE GREENSBORO SOCCER TOURNAMENT RETURNS TO GREENSBORO THIS WEEKEND

Soccer teams will flood into Greensboro for the next two weekends as the Score Showcase Summer Invitational Soccer Tournament will return for its fifth year to Greensboro’s Bryan Park Soccer Complex. While the top amateur golfer will be named at the adjacent Bryan Park Golf Course on Saturday, some of the top girls’ soccer teams from the United States and Canada will hit the pitch looking to take home the championship trophy on Tuesday. The boys’ tournament will begin on Saturday, July 24th and conclude on Tuesday, July 27th. Over 108 teams will participate in the girls’ tournament this weekend and over 115 participating in the boys’ tournament next weekend.

The boys tournament is expected to have an economic impact of approximately $6,954,000 and the economic impact of the girls tournament is projected at $6,840,000 for a total of $13,794,000.

“The Score Showcase is a great opportunity to showcase the Bryan Park Soccer Complex to the best soccer teams while allowing our community to witness some of the elite soccer teams in the country. We are proud of the partnership that has developed between the Score Showcase, Greensboro Youth Soccer, the Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Sports Commission to bring this high caliber event to Greensboro for our fifth year,” said Greensboro Sports Commission President Kim Strable.

“Score is one of the nations leading soccer tournaments and we are extremely excited to have it back in Greensboro. This is a huge event for our city and a tremendous way to showcase the Bryan Park Soccer Complex,” said Greensboro Area Convention and Visitors Bureau President Henri Fourrier.
