Jacob Cadle (Denton, NC/Westchester County Day School), a rising sophomore for the Greensboro College Pride baseball team, has had a very successful summer. He is playing with the Carolina Hurricanes in the Carolina-Virginia Summer Collegiate League.
Cadle is 4-0 with the Charlotte-based Hurricanes. He played in the CVSCL All Star Game. Cadle struck out the side after a leadoff walk in the 8th inning in the contest.
“Jacob is really playing well in the wood bat circuit,” said GC Head Coach Matt Aker. “He also pitched in the Coastal Plains League with the Thomasville Hi-Toms earlier this season.”
Steven Pfeiffer and Tyler Barlow have committed to play baseball at Greensboro College, announced Pride Head Coach Matt Aker.
Pfeiffer arrives after spending his freshman year at Catawba College. Pfeiffer (6-3, 215 pounds) is a first baseman, can pitch, and play the outfield. He played a reserve role as an Indian in 2010.
A graduate of North Mecklenburg High School, Pfeiffer lettered for two seasons on the varsity baseball team. He was voted Mr. Viking (Best Teammate) and had the highest GPA on the team his junior and senior years. Pfeiffer also was a member of the National Honors Society, vice President of the Latin Club, and was in the Top 10-percent of his graduating class.
Barlow is a freshman from Ponte Verda, Fla. An outfielder, he played four years of high school baseball for coach Danny Chapman. He was a first team all district selection. Barlow also played four years of football. Tyler (5-11, 165 pounds) is the son of Mike and Lori Barlow.
Pfeiffer and Barlow join ten previously announced GC baseball newcomers.
