John Olszewski/Johnny O, from the Sports Carolina Monthly, has the report this morning, on Wil Myers'(High Point Wesleyan) performance from last night’s Wilmington Blue Rocks-Winston-Salem Dash game, over in WS….Wil Myers is looking good and playing good for the Blue Rocks, on his way to the Kansas City Royals…..(Interesting side note, Clint Moore(Grimsley HS/Army) and Michael Dimock(High Point Wesleyan/Wake Forest), faced each other as opposing pitchers on Sunday night, up in the Cape Cod Summer League…..
Now here’s Johnny O on Wil Myers…..
I went out and saw HP Wesleyan grad Wil Myers play against the Winston Salem Dash last night and he looked great. The Dash beat Wil’s team the Wilmington Blue Rocks 8-3.
Myers had a solid 2-4 ball game that included a double and caught the whole game.
Since he arrived in Wilmington (Del) his bat has been hot as he is hitting at a .340 clip. He has 17 RBI, but an out of character no home runs. He looks like he has gained a few pounds of muscle.
This kid will continue to improve and move up the ladder and don’t be surprised if he’s up in the Bigs in a couple years. The Royals love the way he handles the bat, which could mean a call up in the near future.
The new stadium in Winston is beautiful…A great atmosphere for minor league baseball.
