Chapel Hill, N.C. — University of North Carolina head coach Butch Davis suspended defensive tackle Marvin Austin indefinitely, according to a statement from the team released Wednesday.
“This decision is not a result of the ongoing NCAA review,†Davis said. “Marvin has violated team rules and has neglected his responsibilities to the team.â€
Austin will not play Saturday in the team’s season opener against LSU in Atlanta.
