The two “pronged” investigation in Chapel Hill continues to simmer with the season opener just days away.
There were reports that as many as nine potential starters were seen practicing with the scout team following last Thursday’s press conference, where school officials self-reported academic infractions.
The infractions centered around certain football players and their involvement with a tutor, who was once employed by Butch Davis’ family. Star defensive end Robert Quinn was one of those players reported as being connected to the probe.
When asked by a reporter if he was one of the players that a tutor allegedly wrote papers for, Quinn denied wrongdoing.
“I mean I worked with her, but I don’t got nothing to do with that,” Quinn said.
InsideCarolina.com has the video interview interview with Robert Quinn available on its insider page.
Quinn, an obvious starter and a first team preseason All-ACC player, couldn’t confirm that he will start against LSU.
“You gotta ask Coach Davis that question.”
