from www.wralsportsfan.com with Tim Stevens comes this:
Duke football coach David Cutcliffe……
“I think they all without question realize that the bigger game of the two is Wake Forest. This is conference play. This is a rival. Everything is riding on this for us,” Cutcliffe told Mark and Mike on 620 The Buzz. “It doesn’t get any bigger than this for us. This is huge. We haven’t beaten them since 1999. That’s a serious streak.”
The jokes are already piling up.
Duke’s season tickets are selling out because Alabama fans want to ensure a seat for the Sept. 18 game at Wallace Wade.
There won’t be a spike in Durham hotels because Alabama fans will just drive their homes (RVs) to the game.
After this Saturday’s ACC opener at Wake Forest, Duke will host the defending national champions in two weeks.
The Crimson Tide will be fresh off of huge game against Penn State. Heisman winner Mark Ingram should be healthy enough to play. A sea of red will invade Durham. A national champion will play on the road at a school that just recently had four wins in a span of four seasons.
