Murfreesboro, N.C. — Richard Hasket (Kinston, NC/South Lenoir)t scored in overtime as the Greensboro College men won in soccer at Chowan University, 4-3, on Saturday. Chris Davis (Lakenheath, England/Lakenheath) earned the assist on the game-winner.
Deng Abiel (Darfur, Sudan/Hoover, San Diego Ca.) scored GC’s first goal to tie the game at 1-1. Georg Wolff (Berlin, Germany/Westchester Country Day (NC)) had two goals for The Pride. He tallied off an assist from Giampier Oblach (Venezuela/Panther Creek) to knot the game at 2-2. Joshua Shore (Boonville, NC/Forbush) assisted Wolff to send the match to extra time.
The Pride improved to 2-4-1 and Chowan is now 0-6.
GC returns to action on Wednesday. Warren Wilson College visits Pride Field for a match that kicks off at 4 p.m.
Greensboro, N.C. — Greensboro College won its two contests at the USA South volleyball tri-match on Saturday at Hanes Gym. The Pride improved to 10-3 and 3-0 conference play.

Seniors Brittany Hunsucker (Jamestown, NC/Ragsdale) and Karen Riffanacht (Cheshire, CT/Cheshire) spiked 19 and 13 kills respectively for GC. The Pride handed the Bishops (5-6, 2-1) their first USAS loss of the year. Greensboro had to come back from 17-10 and 20-14 deficits in the second set. Danielle Simpson (Mayodan, NC/McMichael) had 17 digs and Dana Sandknop (Summerfield, NC/Northwest Guilford) recorded 33 assists. Kelly George recorded 11 digs for NCWC.

Sha McDuffie (Winston-Salem, NC/Parkland) had 13 kills and Brittany Hunsucker (Jamestown, NC/Ragsdale) added 11 in The Pride’s straight-set win. Freshmen Danielle Simpson (Mayodan, NC/McMichael) and Dana Sandknop (Summerfield, NC/Northwest Guilford) had match-highs for digs (13) and assists (26). Mary Baldwin, which got 12 assists from Paige Babb, dropped to 0-9, 0-1. Greensboro improved to 9-3, 2-0.

Mackenzie Tingle had 12 assists to lead NC Wesleyan over the Squirrels. Kelly George added 10 digs for the Bishops (5-5, 2-0). Candace Pettway had 7 digs for MBC (0-10, 0-2).
The Pride takes on Ferrum and CNU in Newport News on Sunday.
