Guilford’s golf team placed fifth at the 12-team Sea Trail Intercollegiate
Sunday. Guilford shot 285 in the third and final round to climb two places
in the standings. Mat Hennick (6th) shot 213 and Noah Ratner (12th) shot 214
to lead the Quakers.
The Quakers’ men’s soccer team played Ferrum to a 0-0 double-overtime tie
Sunday. Guilford goalies Jonathan Shine and Michael MacVane combined for
four saves in the shutout.
Emma Blaylock scored in the 66th minute to lift visiting Guilford to a 1-0
win in women’s soccer at league-rival Sweet Briar Saturday afternoon. The Quakers held a 22-2 edge in shots.
The Quakers’ men’s golf team holds seventh place at the 12-team Sea Trail
Intercollegiate through 36 of 54 holes. Junior Mat Hannick (69-71-140) is in
sixth place individually.
Guilford’s volleyball team posted a 25-18, 25-17, 25-16 victory at Salem
College Friday. The Quakers hit a season-high .357 in the match. Brittany
Freeman led the way with 10 kills.
The Quakers’ five-match men’s soccer winning streak ended Friday night at
Randolph College with a 3-1 setback. Freddy Gomez tallied for Guilford.
