Great guy that worked hard in the business doing country, some rock and then on to Christian Alternative music……Darren Stevens and he was with 98.7, 101.1, ROCK 92 and other radio stations over the years….Did some voice overs too and I remember him dubbing a number of tapes for me over the years and I was able to get the commercial and keep on rolling thanks to Darren….
I do beliveve he loved the format and the music he was playing at the end and it is sad to see it all end for him, at only 42 years of age…..Darren loved sports and he was the coach of his children’s softball and baseball teams and he was at one time, a BIG Carolina Panthers fan….

WINSTON-SALEM — Darren Stevens, the host of the Family Friendly Morning Show on WBFJ-89.3, died today.
Stevens was 42 and was a life-long resident of Ramseur.
The radio station said it did not know the cause of death. However, Stevens was in an area hospital after undergoing an emergency appendectomy on Friday.
