Mike Ellis(Jamestown News) on the High School football playoffs Pod System: A nod to the Pod or is it a Lightning Rod?

Mike Ellis from the Jamestown News with a look at ho the new NCHSAA Pod System for the playoffs has bred familiarity and not necessarily developed new twists or turns in our playoff games so far here in November after the first two rounds of the football playoffs….

Mike’s Take:

Andy – thought the following was an interesting observation on the NCHSAA
Pod system that was designed to reduce travel.

What it has done is “breed familiarity”. No new faces in the Midwest 4A Pod
and on top of that, the Pod has proven you can’t

Beat a team twice in one season.

There have been six games played in the Midwest Pod. Five of the six games
have been between teams that met during the

Regular Season. In all five of those games, the team that lost during the
Regular Season won the Playoff Rematch.

Makes you go..Hmmm!!!
