John Trice has been hired as the men’s soccer coach at Greensboro College, announced Pride Athletics Director Jean Lojko. Trice arrives at GC after spending the past three seasons as an assistant men’s soccer coach at High Point University.

“We are very excited about John Trice leading our men’s soccer program,” Lojko said. “With his experience, personality and enthusiasm, I am confident he is the right person to guide The Pride back to regional and national prominence.”

Trice served as the recruiting coordinator for HPU men’s soccer, and assisted with practice planning, academic advising and scheduling. He was largely responsible for the Panthers’ highly-rated 2009 recruiting class.

Trice came to HPU after serving as assistant coach at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. While there, Trice assisted in leading the men’s soccer team to an 8-6-4 overall record, going undefeated in the Patriot League (4-0-3). The Crusaders earned the Patriot League regular-season championship.

The Chattanooga, Tenn., native is a 2004 graduate of James Madison University where he was a four-year letter-winner, two-year starter, and served as captain for the Dukes. Trice was a member of the 2000 and 2001 NCAA tournament teams as well as the 2001 Colonial Athletic Association Tournament championship team. He was a three-time Verizon Scholar-Athlete and heavily involved in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
