Hoops Roundup on Eastern Guilford girls over Southern from Wednesday night

Eastern Guilford’s Sophomore Whitney Parks scored a career high 16 points and
hit on 3 of 5 three point attempts to help lead the Wildcats to a non conference
win against the Storm of Southern Guilford 71-47. Freshmen Kierra Poteat also
reached her high school career high of 6 points. Freshmen point guard Morgan
Lilly came off the bench and went 3 of 4 from the field and contributed 7 points
in the fourth quarter. Junior guard Karima Jackson reached double figures by
scoring 11 points including her only three point attempt. Sophomore Autumn
Rumley had a career high of 5 assists. Senior guard Miranda Jenkins went 6 of 11
from the field and converted on 6 of 7 free throws and finished with 18 points
while sitting out most of the fourth quarter with the game well in hand. The
Stony Brook signee who reached over her 500th career assists and 500th rebounds in last week’s Christmas Tournament, also went over her career 200th block shot against the Storm. A feat that is seldom done from the guard position for a player under 6ft tall. The Storm were led by Kamille Horne who finished with 17 points.
