Greensboro College men blow out Averett Cougars, 85-52…

Greensboro, N.C. — Daren Dexter (Sarasota, FL/Riverview) scored a game-high 17 points as Greensboro College defeated Averett, 85-52, on Saturday. Dexter was 6-10 shooting and passed for a game-best six assists.

GC, which won its third straight game, improved to 7-5, 1-0 in the USA South and AU dropped to 2-13, 0-2.

The Pride had three other players score in double figures. Michael Jones (Jacksonville, FL/Mandarin ) had 13 points (3-3 three-pointers), and both Adam Powell (Stuart, FL/Jensen Beach ) and T.J. Holman (Raleigh, NC/Wake Forest Rolesville) contributed 10 points. Twelve of Greensboro’s 13 players scored in the contest.

GC led 37-23 at halftime. The final 33-point margin was the biggest of the game. GC shot 48-percent (31-64) to AU’s 35-percent (19-55).

The Cougars won the battle of the boards, 42-38. GC forced 24 turnovers that resulted in 31 points.

Kenny Hart paced the visitors with 16 points.
