Track and Field Results – Guilford Competes at Liberty Collegiate Classic

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Guilford’s Chad Norton placed fourth in the 5,000 meters Saturday at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational, highlighting the Quakers’ performance in the two-day non-scoring meet.

The lone NCAA Division III contestant, Norton crossed the finish line in 15 minutes, 25.09 seconds, the Quakers’ third-fastest time in school history.

Other highlights from the meet include Johnathan Smith’s 12th-place time of 22.30 in the 200-meter dash. He had the second-best time among Division III runners in the race and also took 23rd in the 100 with a 11.35-second clocking. The Quakers’ Sean White captured 12th place among 72 runners in the 800 with a time of 1:58.55. He had the second-fastest Division III time. Cyle Barber finished 14th in the high jump with a leap of 1.79 meters (5’10.5”).

On the women’s side, Guilford’s Taylor Stokes took 29th in the 1,500 with a time of 5:13.7.

Guilford will compete in the Lynchburg Track and Field Classic next Saturday (4/9).
