Women’s Lacrosse Final – Guilford 18, Hollins 6

ROANOKE, Va. – Becca Colley scored a career-high four goals in visiting Guilford College’s 18-6 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) lacrosse win at Hollins University Wednesday. Teammate E’leyna Garcia finished with a personal-best nine points on two goals and a career-high seven assists.

Eight different Quakers found the back of the net for Guilford (3-8, 2-2 ODAC), which matched its highest scoring output of the season. Summer Frazier chipped in with three goals and two assists and teammate Shannon Kandola added three tallies and one helper in the victory.

Colley scored three times in the first half, which saw the Quakers jump out to a 9-1 lead less than 15 minutes into the game. Erica Bruce scored two of her team-high three goals for Hollins (2-9, 0-5 ODAC) late in the first half as the hosts scored three of the period’s final five goals. Guilford led, 15-4, at halftime.

Guilford scored 18 times on 27 shots in the game. Katie Oliver scored twice and enjoyed a strong defensive game with four ground balls and four caused turnovers. Liza Mettler made five stops for her third victory of the season in goal.

The Quakers return home to host league-rival Lynchburg College Saturday (4/9) at 2:00 p.m.
