Kamille Horne(Southern Guilford) will adorn the colors of the Lady Braves at UNC Pembroke

PEMBROKE – UNC Pembroke women’s basketball coach John Haskins has announced the signing of Kierra Haney, Kamille Horne(Southern Guilford High School), Jazmine Kemp and Amelia Partin to National Letters of intent to continue their athletic and academic careers with the Lady Braves.

Kamille Horne(Southern Guilford), a Greensboro native, is a member of the Southern Guilford Storm for coach William Whitaker. She earned conference player of the year, all-conference, all-area and all-tournament honors as a senior, while also capturing two player of the week awards. Horne averaged 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game during her final prep season and finished her high school career with 1,392 points. The team finished second in the High Point Holiday Classic, second in the Mid-Piedmont 3-A Conference and advanced to the first round of the state playoffs. As a junior, she averaged 16.1 points, 4.0 assist, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game as well as earning all-conference, all-area, offensive player of the week, and News and Record Player of the Week accolades.

The daughter of Amelia and Michael Moore is a member of Tri-M and Vocal Ensemble and lettered in volleyball as well. She currently holds a 3.51 cumulative grade point average and ranks 64th in her class of 224 students. She is undecided on a major at UNCP.

“We are excited that Kamille has decided to join our program,” Haskins said. “She is an outstanding person, student and basketball player. Kamille is a good athlete and is an excellent shooter. She has great range on her shot and can also put the ball on the floor and attack the basket. Kamille will be a great addition to our program.”
