Alec Hodges got the start for Glenn but had to leave after two innings when
he injured his shoulder fouling off a pitch in the bottom of the second.

Keaton Haack got the start and the win for Northwest. After giving up 3
runs in the first inning, Haack settled down and breezed through the next
four innings without giving up another hit. With the score 6 – 3, Haack
appeared to tire in the sixth, giving up a leadoff double to Noah Pearl and
two walks to load the bases with one out. Adam Swim came on in relief and
got the first batter he faced to hit into an inning ending double play.

By capturing the Tournament Title, Northwest Guilford moves up to the second
seed from the Piedmont Triad in the State Tournament which gets underway on
Friday. Glenn retains the number one seed and both will get a home game to
start the State playoffs. Southwest Guilford drops to the third seed.

  1. Congratulations to the Northwest Viking team on winning the conference tournament. The team put together back to back games of 12 hits with the win over Southwest in the semi-final and 12 hits with the win over Glenn in the final. Looking forward to seeing all the Northwest fans coming out this Friday to Northwest High School for the first round of the States. All the best to our boys.
