Greensboro Reds win in comeback fashion, 6-5, over Virginia Marlins(CVCL)

Bubba Donothan’s 2 run single in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted
Reds to victory.

Stephen Mekita battled for a 1 out single followed by a walk by Tyler Webb
who then stole second base, Josh Hughes was walked intentionally to load
the bases. That set the stage for Bubba Donothan’s line drive single to right
center.
Mekita was a stand out in the game going 3-3 and crucial bunt hit earlier
in the game that started a rally. Dale Robertson picked up the win in
relief. It was a gutsy game by the Greensboro Reds and the second time in three
meetings that they have had walk off hits to win games in their last at bat.

The key play in the game was a bobbled ball by Kyle Wooden who then recoved
to get the last out of the innings with a shovel pass to pitcher Dale
Robertson at first base. This prevented the VA Marlins from scoring a run at
home plate and kept the score within 1 run in top of the ninth inning.
