The 2011 CP3 All-Stars Invitational, an NCAA-sanctioned AAU tournament, is taking place this weekend at Proehlific Park and Northwest Guilford High School in Greensboro. The event features 17U, 16U and 15U teams, including the 17U CP3 All-Stars.
Members of that team include:

* Wesleyan rising sophomore Theo Pinson, a Greensboro native ranked No. 1 in the Class of 2014 by ESPN.

* Raleigh Upper Room Christian rising senior Rodney Purvis, who is rated the No. 2 shooting guard in the country by Scout.com and Rivals.com and No. 1 by ESPN. He decommitted from Louisville in May and is being pursued by Duke and N.C. State, among others.

* Dudley rising senior Reggie Dillard, a News & Record All-Area first-team selection who is uncommitted.

Pool play begins at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Proehlific Park. The 17U CP3 All-Stars are scheduled to play their first game against Team Raptors Elite at 8:15 p.m. on Proehlific Park Court 1. On Saturday, they will play Team Charlotte at noon and All-Ohio Purple at 8 p.m. The tournament’s single-elimination games are Sunday, with matchups to be determined.

The event is open to the public. Admission is $5 per game, $10 per day or $15 for the full weekend.
