Jim Donnan(Burlington/Marshall U/U of Georgia) gets caught up in financial scheme

Jim Donnan, a native of North Carolina(Burlington), played football and tennis at N.C. State. He was named the ACC player of the year and was selected as the MVP of the Liberty Bowl in 1967.(Also an outstanding tennis player at Burlington Williams High School.)

Jim Donnan played at N.C. State, was an assistant coach at UNC, later coached the Thundering Herd at Marshall and was always rumored to be taking the head jobs at State and Carolina, before finally getting the head job with the Georgia Bulldogs…..

Court documents accuse Donnan and his wife Mary of making millions of dollars in a Ponzi Scheme….

Documents claim the Donnans made commissions for new investments. It claims Donnan invested more than $5.4 million in
the company and that his family ultimately made more than $14.5 million.
